plug (bottom). The intact tampon
is 5 1/4" long (13.3 cm).
The 2 tubes
are each 3" long (7.6 cm).
The plug
measures 2 1/4 x 1/2" (ca. 5.5 x
1.25 cm),
the string
3 1/2" (8.9 cm).

Tampax simply made the 2 tubes
almost the same size for a snug
fit
(example).

When I received the box from the
Tampax archives it contained no instructions.
The face of the box informs the
buyer that these were "TAMPONS /
invisible sanitary
protection / worn internally /
safe and easy to use," giving the
impression
that maybe these were something
unfamiliar to the potential
customer and required
instructions.
From that I assume there WERE
instructions someone removed,
probably
at Tampax Inc.
Someone will
answer for this! Oh,
wait, the company doesn't exist
anymore.
