"Home Treatment for Women," (menstrual
problems, childbirth, dizziness, headache, "female weakness,"
etc.)

Below: Pp. 14-15. Right
page: "In fact, some points about [menstruation] are
still in dispute amongst the best informed medical men. At any rate,
we know that it consists of a certain flow of blood. The blood is not like
ordinary blood--does not contain the vital properties found in your blood
vessels--hence the normal menstrual flow is not weakening, as the loss of
a similar quantity of blood from a cut or a wound would be. On the contrary,
while, shortly before the blood begins to flow, you may have suffered from
headache, backache, dizziness, heat and aching of the ovaries, dragging
sensation, etc., at the beginning of the healthy flow a sensation of relief
should be experienced, and the pain and other symptoms should disappear
with the continuance of the flow." PMS.
