Kotique douche ad (Kotex, U.S.A., 1974, magazine unknown))

The Kimberly-Clark Corporation, maker of Kotex pads, made many other products for women, including tampons, "sanitary panties," napkin belts, napkin powder, and douche liquid, below.
Note the French-sounding name, which feminizes the sound, making it "dainty," a common approach and a common word in ads selling these products in America.
Douching has lost favor in America (but not completely), as it should have, and I don't believe the company makes douche products today.
