Now this is traditonal tampon advertising! Bathing suits reach back at least to ads for the American fax tampon, probably the early 1930s (see a modern Belgian ad using them). This is a non-applicator tampon, like o.b. and most early American 'pons (B-ettes and A.C.C. Tamponettes, for example).

The French often go their own way but Tampax might have been its first commercial tampon.
