Modess sanitary napkin ad, France, July 1972

I believe famous British photographer David Hamilton took the picture for this ad for Modess - for the French edition, of course, since American ads used his work only for perfume and the like, certainly not for menstruation. Heavens to Betsy, the "lady" doesn't have any clothes on!
And the French have made one of the few menstrual hygiene ads to feature a MAN. The Dutch made one too.
These ads show how the same company tailors its advertising to the audience. Kimberly-Clark, which makes Kotex, did the same thing in selling to German teenagers, who are less frightened of nudity, and a lot of other things, too.
See more publications using David Hamilton's pictures: an o.b. booklet for girls (1977) and an ad for the booklet.
See another French Modess ad showing nudity.
I again thank the Dutch contributor of many items to this site!
The ad is missing the heading: "La beauté, c'est peut-être la différence entre un centimètre de plus et un centimètre de moins.'' I translate that as "Beauty is perhaps the difference of more or less a centimeter," but it sounds better in French.
